An aged watercolour sketch gives an idea of how the completed structure looked after it was built - the result of the foundation-stone-laying ceremony of 29 October 1821. This image hangs in Cathedral House today and is one of the few contemporary images of the first Catholic church - and, ultimately, cathedral - in Australia.
