This is the edited text of the homily given by Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP for Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Mass, Year B on 26 May, 2024.

It’s a scene you could picture on the beach of Bondi or Manly on a summer’s day. A boy is digging a hole in the sand, frantically running backwards and forwards to the water’s edge to fill his little well with a seashell-full of seawater at a time.

One of the many, great joys of being a priest is to celebrate weddings. This is especially so when the bride and groom place Christ at the centre of their ceremony. When Jesus is made the guest of honour at the wedding feast, the miracle of Cana happens again. The finest wine of holy joy overflows, long after the bar tab has run out.
