The Archdiocese of Sydney’s weekly newspaper, The Catholic Weekly has launched a digital edition so that its readers can still enjoy a full edition of the newspaper online while churches are closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new digital edition is formatted identically to the print edition and is available for free via The Catholic Weekly website at this link: https://www.catholicweekly.com.au/catholic-weekly-newspaper-online/

The Editor of The Catholic Weekly, Peter Rosengren said the newspaper’s long-standing mission of providing up-to-date news for the Catholics of Sydney and beyond is now more critical than ever.

“We certainly want our readers to feel that ongoing connection to the Catholic Church when they can’t physically attend Mass or even enter churches to pray. We will therefore continue to provide breaking news, features, opinion and analysis with a particular focus on helping our readers nurture their faith in this time of pandemic”, Mr Rosengren said.

The Catholic Weekly online site will also feature prayers, videos, photo galleries and podcasts with a focus on helping Catholics continue to live faith-filled lives through these difficult times.

The Catholic Weekly welcomes story ideas about how clergy, religious and the baptised are responding in these turbulent times. You can send these ideas directly to the newspaper’s editor via this email address: [email protected]
