Who do you say I am? Discerning a vocation

Most read

Who do you say I am? That will be the question pondered by single men in all stages of discernment at a vocations retreat later this month.

Vocations director Fr Epeli Qimaqima will lead the weekend retreat and will share his own discernment experience, alongside Sydney priests Fr Greg Morgan, Fr Emmanuel Seo, and Fr Simon Kitimbo.

“We would like men to have the opportunity to have a glimpse into the priesthood, to find out more about it and hear from young priests and seminarians,” said archdiocesan vocations promoter Lorena Portocarrero.

Men considering a religious vocation need “time to stop everything else in their lives and have the time and space to ask big questions and allow God to give some answers”, she said.

“This is for men in all stages of discernment from those who have just thought about it and are open to the possibility to those who are actively and seriously discerning and considering that God might be calling them to the priesthood.”

The weekend will include adoration, Mass, confession, spiritual direction, and a question-and-answer session with seminarians.

The weekend is priced at $100 and includes meals and accommodation. Please contact the Vocation Centre if you need help covering the cost.

The retreat will be held at the Seminary of the Good Shepherd in Homebush from 11-13 September.
