Much loved and respected priest, Fr Brendan Quirk, is leaving the Catholic communities of Arncliffe, Bexley and Rockdale, after serving them as Parish Priest for 16 years, to take up his new posting as a Chaplain with the Australian Army.

A born and bred “local lad”, Fr Brendan has an “encyclopedic” knowledge of the area he has served since 2002 when he was appointed Parish Priest of the Rockdale and Arncliffe parishes. He oversaw the successful merger of those two parishes and was appointed Parish Priest of St Gabriel’s Parish in Bexley in 2014.

A special farewell Mass was set to take place on Sunday 4 February at St Joseph’s church in Rockdale, with Bishop Terry Brady as the Principal Celebrant. Currently Fr Brendan is Vicar Forane, or Dean, of the St George Deanery of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney.
