Ignite Youth, a team of dedicated young people aimed at gathering, raising up and sending out a new generation of Catholics who are on fire for Jesus, are now accepting registrations for their 2020 Summer Camp.

Open to students from years 7 to 12, Summer Camp will run from 10 to 13 January 2020, in Mapleton on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

With usual turn-outs of two-to-three hundred students and 40-60 volunteer camp leaders, Summer Camp has allowed many teenagers to have life changing experiences after being encouraged to attend by someone at their parish or school.

“Summer Camp is not a bible camp where you have to be perfect, or super holy, or even know anything,” a team leader said!

“It is about kicking off the year on a massive high with your friends, and finding your place within God’s love.”

Ignite Summer Camp is designed for high schoolers to make awesome, real friendships. Where possible, it’s great for parishes or youth groups to send a group of teenagers together. In the past this has shown to be valuable for the camp experience and has produced ongoing fruit for those groups when they return home.

“If there is a young person in your parish or life who would benefit from this experience, we encourage you to invite them, and perhaps bless them with full or partial sponsorship, if you are in a position to do so.”

Over four jam-packed days, teens attending will make new friends, be involved in massive outdoor games and experience incredible and powerful live music.

“Right now you might not know much about faith or God or religion or any of that stuff. Awesome – none of us knew anything about that stuff once either, so you’re in good company.”

Ignite Youth recently hosted their 2019 conference in Sydney with huge success. Spreading the word and the mission of the Catholic faith to young people everywhere.

Filled with great resources, articles, videos, blogs and more, the Ignite Youth website is great asset to anyone “just discovering your faith for the first time or wanting to hit ‘refresh’ on something you’ve known all your life”.
