The quality of the University of Notre Dame’s physiotherapy program has again been recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council with the announcement of a further period of accreditation until December 2017.
The extension of continuing accreditation means that the physiotherapy courses offered at Notre Dame meet the Australian standards for physiotherapy programs. This allows graduates to register with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and gain employment as a registered physiotherapist immediately upon graduation.
“This is recognition by the profession and the community that the physiotherapy program at Notre Dame is producing great graduates,” said Prof Peter Hamer, Dean of the School of Physiotherapy.
“This extension of accreditation also affirms the strengths of our staff in providing a high level of education and training, and the commitment of our students and graduates in providing exemplary service and care to people of all ages.
“Physiotherapy is one of those health professions that has a wide appeal and application across the community – from attending to sports injuries, preventing and treating back pain, restoring function after work-related injuries, and rehabilitating patients following stroke and other neurological conditions.
