Young leaders learn the importance of teamwork

FUTURE LEADERS: Alex Tobin with students from seven Catholic primary schools.

LEX Tobin, former captain of the Socceroos, recently told a group of Year 6 boys that helping your teammates is an important part of being a leader.

Mr Tobin was at Marist College, Pagewood’s sports leaders development day.

Taking part were 25 sports leaders from seven Catholic primary schools – St Bernard’s, Botany; Our Lady of the Annunciation, Pagewood; St Andrew’s, Malabar; St Aidan’s, Maroubra Junction; St Mary-St Joseph, Maroubra; St Therese’s, Mascot; and St Mary’s, Erskineville.

The aim of the day was to develop the students’ leadership skills through a range of activities.

The boys took part in teambuilding and problem-solving activities and learnt how to set goals and develop actions plans.
