Ready to save a life
TRIPLE
CROWN: Melissa Miles shows her national title gold medals
By Damir Govorcin
You don’t wish for rescues, says Melissa Miles, “but I’ll be ready to
save a life if I’m called upon”.
“At the end of the day that is what our volunteer work is all about.”
Melissa, a self-confessed water baby, is discussing the advanced resuscitation
course she has just completed and how she is prepared to put what she
has learnt into practice if needed.
Growing up in a family of eight children, all of whom are lifesavers,
Melissa’s life has revolved around Cronulla Beach and the local lifesaving
club.
Her parents have been members at Cronulla Surf Life Saving Club for nearly
20 years.
