Waverley’s water babes

Budding Ian Thorpes and Susie O’Neills swam their way into the record books when students at St Charles’ Primary School, Waverley, took part in the school’s inaugural swimming carnival.

Children from Years 3–6 made a splash as they competed in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly races and a number of fun novelty events in which the children discovered some new and unusual water skills.

The day ended with the presentation of the Spirit Trophy to the winning Green Team.

St Charles’ has many promising swimmers including Ethan Baker and Luc Aldous, who swam in the recent regional carnival.
