Future champion?
St Catherine Laboure Primary School, Gymea, may have a future sports champion in 10-year-old Cara Simpson.
She was selected last year in MacKillop teams in hockey, athletics and cross country.
And she also represented NSW in the 800 metres and medley relay in the Australian Primary Schools Sports Association Championships in Darwin in September.
For her efforts, Cara received a Primary Sport Medal from the Sydney Archdiocesan Sports Council.
She is the youngest of four children, in a sporting family; her older sister represented Australia in athletics at the World Youth Championships in Canada last year.
