Daniel hits his way to a dream

ABOVE: “Faith gives me confidence to use the talent God has given me,” says Daniel Glynn.

By Damir Govorcin

Daniel Glynn has dreamt of making it to the “big show” – US Major League baseball – virtually since he first swung a bat for the Manly Seasiders at the age of five.

He has already represented NSW and Australia at under-17 level and his outstanding efforts with the bat at the Australian Secondary Schools Baseball Championships in Perth attracted the attention of several US talent scouts.

The 17-year-old power slugger, playing for NSW Combined High Schools, averaged a whopping .692, which included a home run.

He scored a double and a single which secured him the ‘most valuable player’ honour in a game against the ACT.

Daniel received the Golden Bat Award for his efforts and was rewarded with a place in the Australian All Star team chosen at the championships.
