Conversation: Matthew Hayden, Test cricketer and man of faith - When I’m in trouble, I ask: ‘What would Christ do?’

By MOYNA BANERJEE
“Religion has always been a tremendous reference point with me,” says
Australian Test opener Matthew Hayden.
“When I’m in trouble it’s always something to think about. I ask myself

The champion batsman prioritises his Catholic faith as much as he does
his cricket.
Catholicism has been part of his life since birth.
He and older brother Gary – they are five years apart – were raised as
Catholics.
