Insurance board post

Fr Brian Lucas, the general secretary of the Australian Catholic Bishops’ Conference, and former Sydney archdiocesan secretary, has added another string to his bow – that of board member for Catholic Church Insurances.

Fr Lucas, a former Catholic Weekly columnist, replaces the Bishop of Wollongong, Bishop Peter Ingham, who retired from the board last year after 17 years.

He describes his new role as “attending board and committee meetings, and sharing with the other directors the responsibility for the governance of Catholic Church Insurances”.

“It will be important for Catholic Church Insurances to maintain its flexibility and respond to new challenges over the coming years,” he said.
