6 Joeys in teams to play Irish boys

Four players from St Joseph’s College, Hunters Hill, have been named in the Australian Schoolboys rugby team to play Irish Schools in Canberra on Thursday, August 26.

They are Pauliasi Taumoepeau, Jeremy Tilse, Michael Dan and Nick Woolf.

Two others, Nathan Nichol and Ben Bates, have been named in the Australia A team to play the Irish boys at the Kings School today (Sunday, August 22).

St Joseph’s College 1st and 2nd XVs clinched their respective GPS competitions with convincing victories over the Kings School at Hunters Hill.

The 1st XV completed an undefeated season to become GPS champions for the 27th time and GPS premiers on the 51st occasion.

Six members of this team represented NSW in the narrow loss to the Irish schoolboys the following day.

The win by the college 2nd XV secured the 52nd premiership for 2nd Grade Rugby at Joeys.
