Pitter Patter: When tragedy hits

Marilyn Rodrigues, one of our journalists, has recently given birth to her first child. As we followed the progress of her pregnancy in Pregnant pause, so we now follow the family’s life with baby Naomi Thérèse in this new diary.

This week has been a sad one, especially for Peter, who got the news that a longtime family friend had lost her husband in a car accident.

She now faces being a young widow with a toddler and a seven-week-old baby to raise. Certainly she will have the help of family and friends in her task but no one will replace their dad.

Please pray for his soul and for his family.

His death has been a sharp reminder not to take each other for granted but cherish each day because we never know what is around the corner. Our efforts to pray don’t make us immune to tragedy.
