Concert to mark Pope’s jubilee

The Polish community is holding a concert to celebrate Pope John Paul II’s silver jubilee.

The concert, at the Ashfield Polish Club at 3pm on Sunday, October 12, will feature internationally renowned violinist Wanda Wilkomirska, plus pianist Grzegorz

Kinda, violinist Christopher Kinda, pianist Megan Evan, soprano Halina Gad and the German Caecilien Choir.

All proceeds from the concert will support the cost of a solemn thanksgiving Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral at 7pm on Thursday, October 16, the anniversary of the Pope’s election to the Chair of Peter.
