Catholic Women’s Network

The Catholic Women’s Network, which was formed in Sydney last year as a practical local connection to the national Commission of Australian Catholic Women, will be formally launched on Wednesday, October 29.

Its members include pastoral associates and representatives of different groups such as the Catholic Women’s League, Catholic Communications, Women’s Interfaith Dialogue and ecumenical groups.

They meet monthly to support each other in their ministries, share information and plan activities; the latest was a Food and Friendship day at which Catholic and Muslim women shared a meal and exchanged recipes.

The network will be launched in the State Parliament House theatrette by Linda Burney, who, as Labor Member for the seat of Canterbury, is the first Aboriginal MP to be elected to the NSW Parliament.
