Dinner to aid homeless, orphaned kids in Iraq

Donna Mulhearn, the former human shield in Baghdad, is hosting a fundraising dinner for Iraqi children made homeless and orphaned by the war.

The dinner will be held on Friday, November 14, at Ramsey Hall, St Ignatius College, Tambourine Bay Road, Riverview, Lane Cove.

Donna will give a presentation on Stories of war and hope and speak about the Our House project she is working on to provide shelter and care for the orphans and street children of Baghdad.

Donna says that the Iraq war has left many families in a state of chaos, and there are hundreds of children who have fallen through the cracks of state-run institutions and aid organisations.

A special guest MC, live music and raffle prizes will also be highlights of Friday’s dinner. Tickets cost $50, which includes a welcome drink.

To book, call Antoinette Gray on 9419 8113 or by email atgray@bigpond.net.au or Darren McDowell on 9181 5975 and darrenmcd@netspace.net.au

To make a tax deductible donation to Our House - Iraq by credit card phone 1800 100 786. Cheques may be sent to Our House - Iraq at PO Box 3126, Redfern, NSW 2016 (with reply details if a receipt is required).
