Spirituality and suicide

The place of spirituality in preventing suicides will be the focus of a conference in Brisbane next month.

Dr Veronica Brady, a Loreto sister and honorary senior research fellow at the University of Western Australia, will be one of the four keynote speakers at Suicide Prevention Australia’s annual national conference from June 12-15.

Dr Michael Dudley, chairman of Suicide Prevention Australia, says that a “body of quality research highlights religion and spirituality as major factors contributing to health and well-being of individuals, and to the management and prevention of mental disorders and suicide”.for further information telephone (07) 9568 3111 or email spa2003@im.com.au
