Sydney has the jobs but regional Australians - if they are employed - generally enjoy a better life.

To help generate jobs in one regional area - the Hunter Valley - the innovative Two Bishops Trust is organising a two-day employment rally at Cessnock on March 11-12.

The trust, a dual venture between the local Catholic and Anglican Churches, aims to unite the local community in finding creative and workable solutions to unemployment.

The rally, which has already attracted a number of sponsors, including local businesses, will also involve developing an employment strategy for the community.
