Bishops’ Meeting: Faith focus plan for new gateway website

The Catholic Church in Australia is to have a vibrant new web presence, with the construction of a gateway internet site.

The Catholic portal page will project a welcoming, active and informative image of the Church in Australia, with links to all key areas of the Church’s activities and mission.

It will primarily have a faith focus, with the readings for the day featuring prominently.

There will also be direct links to key areas such as the Catholic Inquiry Centre, Catholic health, welfare and education and there will be a daily news component.

There will also be links to the Australian Catholic Bishops’ Conference site and to the Australian Conference of Leaders of Religious Institutes.

The site, approved by the bishops during their plenary meeting, is being designed so that it is clear and easy to use.

The Bishops’ Conference site is also to be redesigned.
