rite controversial, but ‘a jewel’ | Clergy-principals’ conference day
Liturgy in Catholic schools was the topic of the first clergy-principals’ conference day held in Wollon-gong this month. Marist Fr Gerard Moore, from the Catholic Institute of Sydney, addressed the group on liturgy and created great interest and discussion with his enthusiastic and informative presentation. Fr Moore reminded the group
that it was always the liturgy of the Church that we celebrated, not He urged priests and teachers to spend quality time in planning the most appropriate way to celebrate this liturgy in the context of a school. He also urged all present to read the instructions in the missal carefully because of the clear guidelines the missal gives for how liturgy can be celebrated. Conference days are held twice a year and are
an excellent opportunity for priests and principals Religious education co-ordinators were also invited to this most recent conference day because of their key role in organising liturgy in the school. Bishop Peter Ingham addressed the group and introduced the members of the diocesan liturgy commission, who provide advice on the celebration of liturgy in the diocese. |
