The St Vincent de Paul Society is asking for donations of money to help fire victims in the ACT.

It is concerned at present in providing essential items to affected people. After the crisis is over, the Society will then be involved in providing long-term assistance to victims.

Vinnies has stressed that it needs donations of money, not goods. A huge influx of goods at this time would cause logistical problems that may interfere with the Society's capacity to provide responsive disaster relief.

To donate to the Vinnies Canberra Bushfire Appeal call the Archdiocesan Office on 6282 2722 or deposit funds atthe Commonwealth Bank by quoting account number 062 902 903 419.
