Students breathe easily

Staff and students at Patrician Brothers’ Primary School, Fairfield, can breathe more easily. Their school has been designated as asthma friendly.

Asthma Friendly Schools is a voluntary project designed to assist school communities in providing an asthma-friendly environment for students and staff.

Asthma Friendly Schools “recognises the huge impact that asthma has on our school population and seeks to do something about it”, says Ms Lindsay Cane, chief executive officer for Asthma NSW.

“Asthma is the most common cause of school absenteeism, affecting up to one in four primary school students and one in seven secondary school students.”
