Luke’s Story wins award

Luke Nasir’s Our Story: The Palestinians a series of paintings “that represent a race that’s in trouble, but in a subtle way” (Art takes Luke on voyage of discovery, CW 23/2) - has won an award for excellence for the former student of St Pius X College, Chatswood.

His paintings are on exhibit at the Art Gallery of NSW, as part of the ArtExpress exhibition of outstanding 2002 HSC artworks.

Luke (pictured) receives a $500 prize from ArtExpress sponsor Chroma Australia, an art supplies company.

Luke is studying art at Newcastle University.
