Come Back! The Church Loves You

The former Archbishop of Sydney, Cardinal Edward Bede Clancy (pictured right), addresses Catholics who no longer practise their faith but may be feeling some desire to return to the Church’s sacramental life in a new book, Come Back! The Church Loves You.

The book, which was launched at St Mary’s Cathedral this week, was inspired by the words of Pope John Paul II when he was in Sydney in 1986: “Come back! The Church opens her arms to you, the Church loves you!”

It will enlighten those who have strayed from the church as well as regular church-goers seeking a comprehensive understanding of their faith.

It offers a brief, yet clear explanation of the Church’s teachings for those who may lack a clear and systematic understanding of the Catholic faith.

Cardinal Clancy, seventh Archbishop of Sydney (1983-2001), was created cardinal in 1988. He played host to the Pope twice – in 1986 and 1995.

Come Back! The Church Loves You is published by St Pauls Publications and will retail for $17.95.
