Kids join archbishop in cathedral Mass

School students from across Sydney converged on St Mary’s Cathedral last week to celebrate Mass with their archbishop, Archbishop George Pell, for the feast of Our Lady Help of Christians.

The 2000 pupils, representing each Catholic primary school in the Sydney archdiocese, processed solemnly into the cathedral with their school banners.

They paused for a minute’s silence at 11am in tribute to the longest-surviving Gallipoli veteran, Alec Campbell, who was being farewelled in a State funeral in Hobart.
