Liturgy and ministry programs official

The Catholic Institute of Sydney recently achieved a first when more than 40 people graduated from Pastoral Liturgy and Parish Ministry programs, which are now publicly recognised for the first time.

The programs have now been accredited by the NSW Vocational and Educational Training Board and are Certificate IV programs.

Almost 300 people joined Cardinal Clancy and Bishop Kevin Manning for the graduation ceremony.

Archbishop Pell, who was away at the time, sent a letter in which he expressed gratitude to those graduating for the “depth of your commitment to the Church and to your local community, and “very best wishes for your on-going work in the parishes”.

The programs are designed to help graduates in their participation and ministry with their parish communities.

Many were sponsored by their parishes to complete the course.
