St Bernadette’s celebrates 40th in high style

St Bernadette’s Parish at Lalor Park is celebrating its 40th anniversary in high style with good music, good food and lots of dancing.

The primary school will be hosting the Combined Schools Orchestra concert on October 27-28.

The orchestra is made up of 90 local primary school students conducted by Mr Jaime Gibson, founder of Musical Tuition Australia.

Its repertoire is an eclectic mix of popular movie themes, top 40 songs and classical favourites mixed with the latest in choreographed lighting by RSNLX Lighting and Pyrotechnics.

This year the orchestra will include kettle drums and french horns.

The orchestra will be collaborating with a youth choir and dancers on Latin, swing and soul pieces.

Other events include the ‘Gardenia Globes’ (their version of the Golden Globes) with a cabaret show and dancing on September 8 and ‘Four Priests in Concert’ on October 21 which will raise funds for a new cathedral.

The year’s celebrations will culminate in an anniversary Mass and dinner dance on November 3 and a family picnic on November 25.

Tickets for the Combined Schools Orchestra concert cost $20 per family or $8 per person. The venue will be St Bernadette’s Hall, 18 Wheeler St, Lalor Park NSW. For further inquiries phone 0414 524 634 or fax (02) 88 507 508. Please direct inquiries to the parish centre on tel (02) 9672 4037.
